If the Path is Narrow…Do your Pathway Partners keep you on the Straight & Narrow?

There was a very popular song back in the day that said, “Friends, how many of us have them?” We can make having friends the equivalent of what Facebook calls them, when a true friend is far beyond liking pictures and posts. How quickly are we to place people in categories whereby the essence of the connection has not truly been tried and tested?

The beauty of solid friendships are rich in sacrifice, encouragement, & edification. It is this woven encounter of experiences that allow the two to grow and impact one another. The connect can range from childhood friends to co-workers to church family. They can be enlightening and light-hearted in nature.

Let us examine a type of connection between individuals who keep eternity in mind. A Pathway Partner has such a profound impact on one’s life. They do not sign off on everything. They allow the discernment of God to guide them in their agreement or rejection of a thing. It is a highly respected role. This individual is entrusted with a part of you remaining on the narrow path.

Do we give people the license to check us when we go left? Can someone who has shown their allegiance tell you that you are wrong? Is their position as a Pathway Partner questioned when they do not agree with everything that you want to do? Can they remind you of the promises that you made to God?

A Pathway Partner is truly a blessing from God! I cannot express it enough what their trench work produces. There is not only the commitment to seeing you accomplish what God intended through you, but they also have an enthusiasm to encourage through the journey.

Have you earnestly prayed for a Pathway Partner? Have you ever sat with that individual to review the plan of God concerning one another’s lives? Accountability is also a gift. We have to start to look at the opportunities God gives us to remain faithful!

The narrow path is less-traveled. It will decrease your circle, but it is solid. There is a comfort in knowing you are connecting with those who also have a desire to live according to the Standard of God. It is about the growth that is developed on that narrow path! Here’s to the amazing role of those who assist in getting you to the finish line!
